Merage Philanthropies

Shared Story for Our Family of Foundations

For decades, the Merage family foundations have worked side by side. Each has its own mission, focus and leadership. All share a commitment to investing in people, ideas and communities.

Merage Philanthropies brings that work together under a shared umbrella for telling the broader story of that work. The foundations themselves aren’t changing and remain independent, including the David and Laura Merage Foundation. Merage Philanthropies offers a clearer way to understand how the family’s philanthropic efforts connect, the values they share and the collective impact they’ve helped create over time.

Merage Philanthropies is a collective of six private family foundations, each founded and led by a member of David and Laura Merage’s family. Along with the David and Laura Merage Foundation, the collective includes the Sabrina Merage Foundation, the Jonathan Merage Foundation, Merage Foundation Israel, the Andre and Katherine Merage Foundation and the David Merage Foundation for Confronting Antisemitism. The work spans culture, technology, community and civic life, from Colorado to Israel. Together, the foundations have supported more than 500 organizations.

Our Impact

To celebrate this work, Merage Philanthropies has released the first-ever impact report, covering 1998 to 2026. The report brings together stories, milestones and examples of work across the family of foundations. It offers a broader view of what the foundations have invested in, what we’re sustaining and what remains possible in the communities we serve.

The David and Laura Merage Foundation was established in 2002 with a venture philanthropy model. We invest time, capital and business experience in ideas that can grow into lasting institutions. Our work has also helped grow the family of foundations itself. Seeing our work alongside the other foundations shows how one family’s giving has taken root across causes, communities and generations.

Thank you to our partners, grantees, colleagues, and community members who have been part of this journey. The impact reflected in these pages is only possible because of the many people working every day to build stronger communities and create lasting change.
